Mountain Biking

If challenging terrain is your speed, take on the mountain bike trails at Battle Creek Regional Park - West. Mountain biking is a fun way to incorporate healthy activity into your fitness routine. Whether solo or with friends -- mountain biking is a great way to experience nature while building cardiovascular health and muscle strength. Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists (MORC) have developed a trail system at Battle Creek Regional Park-West that includes 3.3 miles of multi-use trails and 4.5 miles of single track mountain bike trails.

Mountain Bike Trail Rules

  • Battle Creek Regional Park is the only authorized trail system in the Ramsey County Park system. It is illegal to ride off trail in any other Ramsey County Park or open space.
  • Trail hours are from sunrise to sunset
  • Ride only on marked trails
  • Observe one-way arrows, do not enter signs and trails closed signs
  • Yield to pedestrians
  • Control you speed and pass with care
  • Maintain a safe distance when following another biker
  • Keep environmental impacts to a minimum
  • Stay off wet or snow covered trails
  • Wear a helmet
  • Respect the wildlife
  • It is illegal to construct new trails or modify existing trails. Notify Ramsey County Parks of any trail maintenance issues.
  • The trails are designed for recreational use only. At this present time, no races are permitted in order to establish a manageable trail system.
