Registrations are accepted online and in person at Tamarack Nature Center. Early registration is encouraged. Space is limited and camps fill quickly! You can register for one week or as many as you like. Our secure online reservation system reflects current camp availability and guarantees your spot in the camp at the time of reservation. Deadline for registration is two weeks prior to the start of each camp or when class is full.
Full payment is due at registration. Check, cash, Discover, Visa and MasterCard accepted.

Before and After Camp Care
Back again in 2014! Need a little extra time to pick-up or drop-off your camper? Tamarack Nature Center offers optional before and after camp care sessions that are perfect for busily parents and guardians.
Whenever possible, activities are centered within the popular Discovery Hollow nature play area. Sessions include naturalist-supervised activities that emphasize nature play and child-centered programming. Please register in advance, as space is limited.
Morning: 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Afternoon: 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
*Please note: Care is not available between the half-day Sprouts and Critters camps.
Join Our Day Camp Staff!
Are you a former camper interested in assisting with day camps this summer? Tamarack needs fun, energetic, positive young people for the following positions:
- Junior Assistant Naturalist (volunteer) - Applications will be available Feb. 15. These volunteer positions are open to ages 14-17.
- Senior Assistant Naturalist (paid) -
Applications are available in the Job Opportunities section of our website and are due Feb. 4. These paid positions are open to ages 16+.
- Summer Naturalist (paid) -
Application information is available in the Job Opportunities section of our website. Applications are due Feb. 10. These positions are open to college seniors and above.
Day Camp Basics
- Camp weeks run Monday through Thursday for families eager to get started on their weekends.
- NEW! Friday Favorites – EcoArt Fridays have been replaced by Friday Favorites. Friday Favorites is a series of mini-camps some favorite camp activities that kids go wild for!
- A variety of Extended Age Camps are available that are open to multiple age groups. These camps are perfect for families with children in neighboring age groups that want to stick together!
Helpful Info & Links
You will receive a confirmation e-mail upon registration. Additional information detailing what to bring, wear and other important information will be emailed two weeks prior to the start of the camp week.
Limited scholarship opportunities are available for Ramsey County residents. Please contact our Camp Coordinator at 651-407-5350 for further information.
Cancellations and Refunds
Registration fee will be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee if cancellation is at least 30 days prior to the start of camp. No refunds available if cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the start of camp. If Tamarack Nature Center must cancel a program, a full refund will be issued.
Nature doesn’t stop when it rains, and neither do we! Some of our best memories are shared during those unexpected moments. However, certain activities may be cancelled due to severe weather, and children will be sheltered inside if necessary.
If your child has special needs due to allergies, disabilities or health concerns, please complete the appropriate information on the registration form. We look forward to creating a positive experience for your child and can accommodate many concerns with advance notice.
